Jupiter's Thigh

Ah, le franĒais. Besides berets, baguettes, and ballet, what are they known for? No, not the Eiffel Tower (well, okay, that too)--"Jupiter's Thigh."

This has to be one of the funniest movies ever made. Madame Lemerciel, the heroine, is a newly married police inspector on a honeymoon in Greece with her groom, Monsieur Lemerciel--a professor of Greek. Once on vacation, the couple meets Jean-Luc, a French archeologist, and his blond wife. Because of various mistakes, blunders, and tricky espionage, the two couples quickly become fugitives. They flee and lead the police and true "bad guys" on a hilarious chase, traveling by stolen car, train, foot, and even helicopter, all the while searching for the three pieces of an ancient Greek statue that Jean-Pierre unearthed so they can prove their innocence.

What's that you say? You don't know French? Bien sūr, you don't need to! Alors, there are the immensely useful subtitles in this film! (What's that? You can't read? Too bad!) "Jupiter's Thigh", jam-packed with physical comedy and quirky, humorous characters, is not only a must-see, but a must-see-many-times. I promise vraiment! **Polyhemnia
