Oblivian

Her laugh is infectious and
will fill the air like the
shine from her smile or
the sparkle in her eyes which
reflects off her soft blond hair yet
she denies the reality of her beauty

Instead, a glimmer of worry resides
in those eyes, which shimmer to those who
know her not.
Behind the strenght of personality lies
doubt-of-slef which
like a creeping, crawling serpent is
only seen by those who know her best.

From forth the fatal jaws of
this beast, comes a world that
feeds on the compliments to
leave room for the few and
far between put-downs which
are the words with which
a single one could ruin her

Yet I give her not enough
for in the very den where
this was most true
She triumphed
and
was able to see through that which
like a dark vail of night could
send her in a downward sprial to
oblivian.
