The Clock
The clock stood still,
Or so it seemed.
Time had stopped,
Stood still.
It was an eerie silence,
People were talking,
Screaming.
But I couldn't here them.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion.
I wish I'd seen it sooner,
Because by the time I did,
It was to late.
I saw the frightened look in their eyes.
I turned to my friend,
Her eyes closed,
I saw a bullet,
a bullet in her heart.
And she stopped breathing.
I began to run.
I couldn't see,
I couldn't see what was happening.
I found my self a corner,
And sat.
I closed my eyes,
And wished it to be over.
When I opened them again,
Everything around me was dead.
Everything I knew,
Everything I loved,
Was gone.
I was all that was left,
In a world of nothing.
